According to a report Tripura government has decided to run NEET instead of selecting medical students through state joint entrance test. Now MBBS aspring students from Tripura will have to appear in NEET 2012 (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) for next academic session.
Though Tripura government has given nod to NEET but they are still not confirm on conducting NEET in vernacular languages.
Common medical entrance test (NEET) would be conducted centrally and 85 per cent seats of government-run medical colleges will be reserved for home state students while 15 percent would go to central pool.
The proposed NEET UG is scheduled to be held on May 13, 2012 and notification related to NEET UG 2012 is likely to be out in December.
Other states like Andhra Pradesh, J&K, Karnataka and Tamilnadu are not participating in NEET UG 2012 and clouds are nor clear for states like Maharashtra, West Bengal and Gujarat.
