The final verdict on NEET PG for the Post Graduate medical courses for the 2013-14 session still in Supreme Court the Union Health Ministry has gone ahead with the tentative dates for the NEET PG Online counseling of students in Government medical and dental colleges from February 20.
The ministry is hopeful that on the next hearing on Feb 12, the apex court will take a final decision, on whether or not the state’s and private universities can conduct separate entrance exams. After the announcement of verdict, NEET OG 2013 results will be declared.
The Union Health Ministry official said, “The ministry announced the tentative dates to avoid the last minute hassle and for the convenience of students,”. The two month counseling schedule – beginning February 20 and ending on April 19 – has been already uploaded on the Ministry’s website.
Total 20,000 seats available in all the 350 private and government medical colleges across the country. NEET PG 2013 was held in November 2012 in which a total of 95,463 MBBS pass-outs had appeared for NEET PG 2013-14.
“Proposed counseling only for those, who qualify for the around 6,000 government seats in medical colleges. Depending on the outcome of the order, we will take steps for counseling of the students from the private colleges also” the official said.
