2012 will be the last year that the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) will conduct its own entrance examination on May 6. From 2013, medical students aspiring to get admission to the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune would have to appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Though AFMC accepts scores of NEET UG but the Institute will have it’s own selection criteria for evaluating students; only those students who opt for AFMC Pune in NEET UG application form will be interviewed.
“The new procedure would apply for entry into AFMC from 2013. The merit criteria would be decided by NEET-UG and NEET-PG entrance tests. There would be an option in application form asking candidates if they wish to apply to AFMC. Only those who have indicated their wish to join would be separated and based on merit, would be referred for interview to us,” said Kakaria.
However, he clarified that AFMC will only admit students after conducting various tests.
